From Principal's Desk
Yeshwant Mahavidyalaya is reputed for providing quality liberal education in the Humanities, Commerce and Management and Sciences.
The college has as its backbone an excellent infrastructure; the smart classrooms for appropriate teaching-learning using ICT,
state-of-the-art laboratories, a recording studio and the other general facilities which are amongst the best in the region.
Student aid Forum (SAF), Earn and Learn Scheme, Student Adoption by teachers are some of the student centered programs run on the campus.
The faculty is distinguished and the support staff is dedicated.
The College will have to work hard to succeed in fostering new learning
& teaching techniques and world class research then only it will be in a position to nurture the talent of the students and staff.
The teaching-learning programs are marked with personal mentoring; students are encouraged to work in collaborative teams and learn
from peers. The emphasis is on innovative teaching strategies using Learning Management Systems (LMS) that provide experiential
learning through project work, field work and case studies in this CoViD-19 situation as well. It has transformed the centuries-old
Chalk-Board teaching model to technology-driven online/live-streaming classes. E-learning and online
courses emerged as a learning solution for the students across all the universities and colleges in India. However, in post COVID era
blended learning (a combination of classroom and online modes) will be the norm. Institutions and teachers will blend the two
judiciously according to the context and the content. The college has already taken an initiative in this regard.
The college has
several Career Oriented- Skill Programs, Add-on Programs and Value-added Programs to cater to the diverse interests of the students.
The students can pursue these in conjunction with their regular course of studies. We impart formal education with a difference even
as we work within the constraints of a traditional university system to groom students for curricular, co-curricular and
extra-curricular excellence.
The College believes that each student is special and has the potential to excel in many
different ways. The touchstone of all our programs is an active engagement of all the stakeholders that nurtures individual talent.
Through carefully crafted interaction and activities within and outside the classroom, we provide experiences that help the student
discover innate capabilities, set life-long goals and proactively work towards their fulfillment. The college looks forward to its
development into a young and energetic campus hosting variegated courses to carry forward its vision of providing holistic education
to the rising number of students aspiring for higher education in this region. The Annual Social Meet of the Students at the Yeshwant
Campus is named as the Yeshwant Youth Festival which is a combination of research, experimentation, and cultural which is unique in
itself. The college is unique in organizing various National and State level curricular and co-curricular meets incorporating the
active participation of all its stake holders.YMLIT Fest, YMIT Fest and YMZEP are student related Fests organized for the students
by the students.
The dedication and the team work of its stakeholders have won many laurels to the institution. The college
is the recipient of the Best College Award, the Best Teacher Award, the Best NSS Officer Award, and the Best Principal Award from the
parent University. The college is the proud beneficiary of Two National Awards - Indira Gandhi NSS Best College Award as well as Indira
Gandhi NSS Best Program Officer Award. The College Magazine is awarded the first prize more than a couple of times. I take this
opportunity to congratulate my colleagues and students for all the ecstatic achievements. The college is identified as College with
Potential for Excellence (CPE); accredited at “A” grade by NAAC Bangalore in 2003; re-accredited at “A” grade in 2010; Certified by
ISO: 9001:2008. The college is happy to declare that it has been accredited “A” grade by NAAC, Bangalore in November 2015 during
the re-accreditation (III cycle) and has achieved a hat-trick.
There will be significant challenges to face in this CoViD-19
pandemic situation but if college remains committed to the vision then it is quite possible that we may achieve significant part
of it if not in-toto.I believe our College will come into limelight and will make its academic position on the global academic map
with great and firm positive impact. Before concluding, I must add one phrase “If you want to shine like the sun, first burn like
the sun.”
I welcome you all to this leading institution (Both in Offline and Online mode) and hope that you would have a wonderful
experience on the campus!!!
